Subject: Sad news, our RT Nana has passed away

Most of you older RTers will remember Nana. She has been very sickly and in the hospital for about 4 weeks. She had a stroke and a heart attack several months ago, and was kind of rallying from those, altho she was still on bedrest. Then she started having stomach problems from her old stomach surgery. A few of us have been keeping in touch with "papa" and he's been giving us updates on how she was doing. When I spoke to him today he said she had passed away. Nana's daughter was there with him, and lots of other relatives.

(Nana did not want a lot of people knowing how sick she was - she had asked those of us who knew not to post about it on RT, because she was unable to answer emails)

I almost put her into the Sims game Wednesday night. I thought she might want to live with Johnny Depp and Sawyer but I couldn't find a BAH big enough for her.

I might put her and MikeyD in a house in the neighborhood just for me to play. I can imagine the hijinks those two could cook up.

RIP Nana. Give MikeyD a hug for me. And grope his butt just a little bit.

Nana posted this pic of herself after DJ sent her a hula outfit. Nana was so tiny, she said it was so long she had to wear it on her haid. ;-) Of course, a chance to make a laugh never got past her either.

I'll miss her too, and her bus always wanting to pick us all up. I'm glad she's not suffering anymore tho, too.

It occurs to me now that I've been on this board since I was a teenager in college. I have fond memories of some of the silliest chats with her while I was avoiding my school work.

Without a doubt Mikey and Nana are up there having one heck of a reunion. They're drinking Heiny's and roasting wienies while they reflect back on the friendships created on RT and in chat.

I have the little figurines she sent me sitting on the windowsill in my bedroom. I have a dish of Nana cookies on my table that I baked yesterday, although there are only about 5 left. I have a very sad spot in my heart. Good Bye Nana. You were a wonderful friend.

I went to the funeral home website and saw that in that obituary they mention us. That made me cry more. What a sweet and special lady.

Polly Ann Booth Crow 66, of Ashdown passed away Wednesday April 9 after a lengthy illness.

Polly was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed her family and friends. She was an avid watcher of �All My Children� and spent many hours on line talking to her many friends all over the US. Polly and her husband owned and operated Polly�s Washer Service and Crow Masonry in Ashdown. She will be missed by all that loved her.

She was born August 21, 1941 at Hot Springs, AR. She had resided in Cherokee, NC for ten years before moving back to Arkansas in1970. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Elizabeth Matthews Booth, her son John G. Sneed, III. and her sisters Johnnie Lee Bland, Marie Dossey Cunningham, and brother Julius A. Booth.

Surviving include her husband, Billy Ray Crow, daughter and son-in-law, Kimlyn Sneed Lambert and Doug of Cherokee, NC, stepson and daughter-in-law Billy Dean and Debbie Crow of Texarkana, AR. Three grandchildren, John Daniel Hall of Waynesville, NC, Jordan Travis Sampson and Jessica Rose Lambert of Cherokee, NC. Two step grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Monday at the Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas Chapel with Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial will be at East Memorial Gardens.

THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AT THE FUNERAL HOME FROM 6 PM UNTIL 8 PM SUNDAY.

THE FAMILY WILL BE AT THE HOME OF BILLY DEAN CROW, 7302 EAST 9TH STREET, TEXARKANA, ARKANSAS.

this news makes me so sad.

i never got the recipe. i remember it being a hit, but for some reason, i never got it.

i missed alot of those recipes in the Random Recipe File.

i submitted some, but i didt have a printer back then to immorilize (sp?)them.

funny thing is, i've been thinking about homemade cc cookies for a week. I've been thinkin bout nana too. didn't know she was sick. just thinking about her.

can someone share?

Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 tsp baking soda
1 cup butter/margarine
1/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 pkg (4 serving size) vanilla instant pudding

Mix together, then gradually add 2-1/4 cups flour.
Next, add a 12 oz bag of chocolate chips.

Bake at 375 for 8-12 min. These cookies will be soft, guaranteed! Even burnt, they'll still melt in your mouth! Try it once, you'll use this recipe forever. Try different flavors of both pudding mix and candy chips to make your cookies unique!

I had no idea she was so sick - too young to leave those who love her - it is good to know that she and Mikey D and Trog will be making trouble together - her warm sense of humor and those wonderful cookies will always be here with us though.

thanks to Missy for calling me. What sad news! I don't think I've ever laughed so hard as when we used to do in the chat room for all those years. Now life just gets in the way, but it's soooo nice to remember those memories again. I forgave her a long time ago for kidnappin the Nipper, but both Nana and Mikey have some 'splainin to do about leaving him for me to raise!! ;-)

Take that spot next to Mikey in the hottub Nana....I'm sure he's glad to have you there. Rest in peace nanamamamamama...... :-(

I can just imagine if she WAS a tiny lil southern belle back then, she'd be running around smacking people with that parasol. And driving a stagecoach instead of a bus. ;-)

How sad to hear this news....I hope she does indeed rest in peace...

We adore Nana's Chocolate chip cookies ...my kids would even ask for them by her name...:-(
