The official comment I've seen on the website is that Balet had an opportunity to move up a notch in the baseball hierarchy and the Cheetahs accomodated him. Stands to reason when you hit .405 you are going to get the attention of at least the next level up, in this case the Northern League.
Makes sense to me, Balet is 25 or 26 and heck, if he hits .405 in the FL, who's to say that as an undrafted guy he might not open a few eyes and make some money at this game?
Chances are remote that the team is going to get another .400 hitter next year, but I've been following the roster as it's taking shape this winter and they look to have a better team than last year....and that's what it's all about to me.
