That all depends of course on how big the chicken is...roughly you want him eating at least 3lbs of chicken a day if that's a whole chicken then there you have it. Ozzy is eating about 2 1/2 lbs a day filling out and whatnot nicely. Pay attention to the ammount of fat they're getting too. Beef is fattier than Chicken etc... Are you putting the girls on Raw too?

I switched mine over in groups of about four...it was easy that way and I caught on with the smaller dogs and added more dogs to the feeding as I felt comfortable adding them. I've got some dogs that need more fat in their diets than others. Hennessy is a prime example of a dog who needs a good ammount of fat in her diet or she shrinks right up. She's already eating what a 65lb dog is eating. Monty on the other hand...he's eating just shy of what my 40lb pits are eating and I've even taken to trimming his of fat etc.... River does great just eating his normal chicken.

One thing to keep in mind too is that you should not add organ meat till after they're on raw for a good bit. I'd feed at least two weeks before changing up proteins and then once that is undertaken without problems then add organ meat. River didn't do well with organ meat the first time. This time I plan to not feed him as much as I did the first time and see how that goes. Honestly keeping a dog on chicken primarily isn't an issue as long as there's some variety from time to time with beef etc... Most people just feed what they can get on sale etc... Fish is a plus too. Once you've got organ meats going you can add fish. I've just started adding Flax and Omega three oils and they're lovin' it. Already looking better too (not that they looked bad but they're almost glowing now they're so shiny).

Anyway that's that.

Sara
