It is NOT a fair pageant. First of all, it is true that EVELYN the choreographer of the pageant, was also coaching the girls in the pageant. Also, never in any true and ethical pageant would you ever have the pageant director VIRGELIA suddenly become a 12th judge at the last minute. All she is doing is checking the scores so she can fix the pageant to whoever was the highest bidder. So pretty much whoever won was based on how much money you were willing to pay Virgelia and Evelyn. On top of that, this is the FIRST AND ONLY year, there was no dress rehearsal before the pageant. If there was and DIANE YOO came out with her obnoxious evening gown, there would have been an uproar with all delegates. There has never been a pageant that people actually “booed” the the contestant (Diane) everytime she walked on stage. It was so obvious that Diane was a joke in the pageant, she never answered any of her questions, she had no poise, no class, and no community spirit. I also overheard she tried to team up the girls to sabatage one of the contestants. Doesn’t that completely go against what Miss Asia USA is all about? None of the contestants were happy with the results and were in shock when Diane won. People like Virgelia, Diane, and Evelyn and perfect examples of what NOT to be. There is no class in this pageant and this reflects nothing on Asian culture. Don’t have mommy and daddy buy your crown, EARN IT, and give respect to all the delegates that worked hard for a chance to be considered. I am ashamed that Diane Yoo is representing the Asian communities. It does not make me proud to be an Asian American.
