| Subject: What to look for in a printer | |

] Date Posted: 06:00:45 11/15/08 Sat I was asked last night at work, "What should I look for when buying a printer?" There are mainly 2 types of printers, regular and photo. Other features you may require are scanning, faxing and copy. Once you find a printer that meets these needs I would avoid multiple colour ink cartridges. The reason for this is that if your print jobs do not use CYAN as one of the required colours for 2 weeks, this cartridge will begin to harden and stop working. The option to look for is a single colour cartridge that handles all your colour needs. Any time you use colour, you avoid the earlier mentioned problem. Keep in mind too that the ink cartridges included with the printer purchase is 1/2 full at best. Have a look at the cost of replacement cartridges before buying your new printer so you are not shocked when you go to buy them. Some brands are cheaper than others. Hope this helps.
