Shadowed Caves
Torches that somehow never burn out dimly illuminate every juncture of this spooky network of tunnels and caves, darkness resides everywhere else. You can�t see much down here. If you look carefully after your eyes have gotten used to the light, you can see skeletons of animals that have previously died, carelessly kicked into the darker corners. A labyrinth: it is so easy to get lost here. Just more caves and tunnels, each looking exactly the same as the last. Food is scarce. A few little puddles spotted about, fed by the leaky ceiling, provide water. Apart from that, just mosses and mould grow out of the small cracks in the walls. In the darker areas, where no-body dares to go, there are wide vertical shafts, providing sheer drops. If you kick a stone down one of them, you don�t hear a thud. There are stories of how a Unicorn once fell down here. His ghost is said to haunt these tunnels. Some of the unicorns here claim to have seen him patrolling the tunnels. No sunlight finds its way in here. Only a faint orange glow comes from the torches, casting eerie shadows on the walls. There is one huge cave in the middle of the labyrinth. Fights and competitions between these power hungry unicorns take place here. This is the most well lit place and many torches line the walls. Providing ample light. The unicorns stand in a circle to watch the fights. The victor becomes ruler of this territory. Until challenged. No one is allowed to reject a challenge. It is a sign of weakness.
