As a director I have to pay for the directors fees, place to hold the pageant, any advertisement I do, food for the contestants, program books, trophies, state crowns and sashes, judges meals and rooms if they are out of town, postage to send out flyers, flyers, signage, air fare for my queen to fly to nationals, hotel room for my queen while at nationals, and much more.

I spend around $10,000.00 to put on a good show and make it worth the contestants entry fee. Last year I have high numbers as for contestants and I only made $3,000.00.

I am not sure about other directors, but for me I direct because I love pageants and I can no longer compete.
