We have been in the industry for over 25 years. In that time, there have been many changes. We have seen decline in some fish stocks, abundance in others, and have watched governments across the globe work to sustain their fisheries for future generations. It’s a daunting task to sift through the numerous organizations that certify and rate specific fish and fisheries. There seems to be new ones added regularly. We believe this leads to confusion with consumers. Which certification program is better than another? Why, when looking at the different seafood rating guides, do some fish rate as “OK” with one organization, and then “at risk” with another? Many of these organizations have their own policy stance regarding seafood, and at times they contradict each other.
