Diana:

Thanks for the links. I too, remember the tornado as if it were yesterday, memories forever etched into my mind. We were living in Westboro at the time, but visiting a relative in Worcester when the tornado struck.

My sister and cousins were outside playing when the hail began pelting us. Our parents immediately summoned us to get inside and by the time we got to the front door, it took 3 adults to close it.

My adult cousin looked out back and noticed that the garage door to the un-attached gargage was open. She ran out the rear porch and closed the garage door, by the time she got back to the rear porch...the garage was gone! Just as she closed the rear porch door a giant tree crashed on to the porch. We didn't know about nano seconds back then, but I would say that's how close she came to being killed.

After the tornado had passed we went out to assess the damage and it was destruction everywhere. At the end of the street we could see what I believe was Assumption College in the distance...on fire.

We then saw a pickup truck pass us with a man in the back, he evidently had been in the tornado. He had no clothes on, was totally covered with dirt/mud and his eyes were wide open to the point they looked like ping pong balls.

We were all blessed on that day! It would be nice if we could remember everything the way we do the horrific things that have happened along our life's journey.
