Absolutely not!!! LSU at Alexandria serves a mostly place-bound population. Our student body is approximately 50% non-traditional students, many of which would have no opportunity to enrich their lives and the lives of their families if the university were stolen away from us. Having an undergraduate degree is one of the leading indicators of a person's average annual earnings and will be the key to CenLa raising the living standards of all of our citizens, our families, our friends. We have approximately 250,000 residence of CenLa that have some college experience, but have not finished. Image the potential to improve our lot in life we have through the blessing that is LSU at Alexandria!

As a past member of Louisiana's Board of Regents, and as past-President of LSU at Alexandria's Student Government, I can tell you that this campus has a fully dedicated faculty and administrative, hopeful and energetic student body, and room to expand our services in almost all directions. We have not been recieving this so called 100% formula funding that has been touted around the state (significantly less!!), though we have still been able to meet our mission of delivering quality four-year degrees. Before the state starts looking at how much it can strip away from us, perhaps it should begin by taking an honest look at what it has at this point been willing to put in!
