Dear Nádia,

I'm afraid you've forgotten all that old stuff that some dads tell their sons about being a man, for instance:
*men don't burst into tears;
*they don't throw emotional tantrums when things aren't going their way;
*they take life on the chin; (to accept unpleasant things in life in a brave way without complaining)
*they keep a clear, level head during the good and bad parts of the relationship;
*they don't turn problems into insults thrown at each other;
*they don't look innocent whenever she kisses you.

Don't you think those things make men's lives much more difficult to live?

You may be right about all the pain of childbirth but there are many ways to control or to relieve it. One of the ways is through relaxation.

Another thing you should not worry about is breastfeeding. It is a wonderful moment of loving and caring. Besides that breastfeeding is important for the mother as well as for the child. It is important for the nutritional aspect and for the psychological bonding which is developed between the child and the mother for the rest of their lives.
I think you shouldn't worry about nights without sleeping. If a mother rests well during the day, and breastfeeds her baby regularly, he/she will not need to be breastfed at night.

You will see that it is not difficult to manage all those things. Having a newborn at home changes a little the couple's life but in a few weeks everything gets back on track again.

What do you think?

Regards,
Angélica
