![]() Dimitri strolled down the street with his eyes half-closed. This certainly was a strange place. More mythological beasts than there were humans. It was hard to find such a haven in the world these days and harder still to remain alive for long. Not that survival had ever been an issue for him, but there were... others... to be concerned for. The wide boulevard gave ample room for him to wander, cane swinging slowly at his side. His long hair was secured at the nape of his neck by a soft blue strip of silk, tied in a neat bow. The night air was filled with aromas and emotions around him, rising and swirling like leaves on a breeze. Fear, excitement, death and anticipation fluttered past him, feeling in the wake of a predator. Dimitri sniffed, cautiously, eyebrows rising around his hazel eyes. A cat, was it? He didn't like cats, as a rule. They always got fur all over his nice coats. And the chairs. And destroyed the pretty curtains. The dogs just ate everything. Much easier to smack, too. Cats were just too fast to catch. From a few yards away, Dimitri watched the exchange with a smile playing around his lips. Well, well. A nasty little kitty, was she? If he had a more secure footing in the city, he would have smacked them both. The vampire for being an idiot and the kitty-cat for being so intolerably disrespectful. But as it was, he had to settle for a loud sigh. Children these days. That wasn't very nice, you know. He can't help that his teeth are abnormally sharp and pointed. It's a trait of our species, I am afraid. |
