sam stood loosely, head hung and eyes in their usual droop. feigned apologies and hot retorts plagued the air around him as the vampire and naive woman turned to leave. would one hobo stop them? perhaps not. perhaps he couldn't. perhaps he had no desire to.

perhaps not today. today on this dreary, overcast day. this day surrounded by squalls. after all...he was just one darn hobo. a smile spread like the black plague across his face. chocolate eyes covered once again by long locks of hair.

like poetic clockwork the rain let out a sprinkle. sam chuckled to himself softly, letting it grow louder with the rain. still cackling madly he swayed back into his alleyway, singing in between chuckles.

"he's dead, we's dead....we're all done dead...take it as a penny or take it in the head...lost it, lost it, they've all lost their minds." he skipped down the long hallway-like alley. "and hobo sam's the last sane man! oh! what dreadful times."
