(ooc: groovy. :) lol this thread's so long, it takes like forever to scroll down to the newest post. xD pwn.)

"Max, do you have a cell phone?"

"Kinda, yeah." He did have one, but it was so old already it died every fifteen minutes, so spent more time off than on, although it still worked alright when it wanted to. Max looked up and sideways as a car drove past them, about to ask Midori whether she had a phone too in case she wanted to exchange numbers, but was struck silent when from the corner of his eye he caught a fleeting glimpse of three unnervingly familiar figures just before two of them moved out to the side, as if preparing to close in on them or something. Max swore softly to himself. He didn't trust the look of that for a minute. When he stole another quick glance behind them, he saw that only one man was following them now with a quickened pace. Where were the other two? Max moved a bit closer to Midori as they walked. "Something's up. I think we're being followed." he said over to Midori, lowering his voice a fraction.

The first man that had split off from the group had made his way to the other side of the road, while the second had swiftly slipped into a side street. Up ahead of Max and Midori the road ended in a small T-junction, and the left side of the "T" had been closed off by a large brick wall, forming a dead end on that side. The man, who knew the small winding streets of the city like the back of his hand, knew of a string of paths and alleyways that eventually led to the small courtyard the brick wall had created. He hurried along these paths until he immerged again at the back of the courtyard, and then moved swiftly forward and waited at the end of it. He was now waiting around the corner and well out of sight of Max and Midori, his muscles tensed and ready for them.
