He held her, regaining his breath bit by bit. Hell, he felt weak all over--he had not been expecting for the end to hit him that hard. You tended to try to convince yourself you didn't miss things on the outside when you were doing time--but he'd been lying his ass off when he'd tried to tell himself he didn't miss this intensity that Tori had always managed to spark.

When he knew he'd be able to stand fully without shaking as not to embarrass himself, he slipped from her warm depths. Her words drew a grin from him as he noticed a fang slowly descend. He'd often thought of that, both in their time together and the time he'd been away. Life was fleeting...Tori had seen centuries upon centuries, but here he was, halfway to fifty, and likely over halfway done with his lifetime. He'd never willingly leave Tori again...though eventually, the simply biochemistry of life would force them apart. Would she be okay with that?

Pushing the darker thoughts from his mind, he chuckled. He had considered it in the past, in fact. Just so he'd never have to be without her.
