Hi All,

I would like to shout out a big thank you to the mods for setting up the league and welcoming myself and Fletcher. And for setting up the sheets for the mini-draft and answering questions along the way! Thanks to Fletcher for smashing through the mini-draft with me at odd hours with the time difference haha. Looking forward to many seasons ahead in the SL!

Now for a press release from our head of list management - Jerry Maguire - following a successful mini-draft:

"Going into the mini-draft we set ourselves a goal of taking on a mixture of both proven talent and up and coming youth to set ourselves up for sustained success. The latter was made a little more difficult without access to top draft picks so once we had consolidated some top-end talent we focussed on bringing in some top draft picks from last year and felt we were successful in doing that, while also bringing in an additional future 1st round pick.

We feel we have a great group for sustained success with an average age of just 23.7 and many of our players in their prime or yet to enter their prime.

Our side will be captained by reigning Brownlow Medalist Patrick Cripps and Clayton Oliver will serve as Vice Captain. We are very excited by Oliver's new contract, signing him on until 2030 and he has desires of one day captaining the side.

While we are very comfortable with the team balance that was achieved through the draft, we feel we do have a couple of quality KPDs and small forwards that we could spare and will be seeking opportunities to both move up the draft and bring in KPF and small defender depth if and offer presents itself that is in the best interests of the club.

We have listed a "Worth Tier" on the Spartans team page. This is to give a fairly transparent view on our thought processes in how we value certain players on our list to give all coaches some idea of our own thoughts. This may be to our detriment, however I think it's a good place to start, this may be removed in the future. Though keep in mind that not all players in the same tier are necessarily the same worth and some players that are deemed have a lower "worth" may be currently vital in the overall structure of our 22 man squad.

We look forward to having some constructive list management discussions with fellow coaches over the coming week or 2 leading up to the draft."
