Subject: Superleague draft

Hi coaches,

We're only a few days out from the first night of the AFL draft.

This year draft starts Monday night the 28th and finishes with the rookie draft in Wednesday afternoon.

Superleague trading of players will finish 6pm Monday night. The trading of picks (22ND, 23PSD, 23MSD and 23ND) will still be allowed right through until the completion of the draft. But remember, if you trade a pick out for this year you need a pick back in. For example I trade out pick 6 for a future 1st. The coach getting pick 6 needs to also trade me one of their active picks in this draft. You must end the draft with 50 players.

The Superleague draft will officially kick off 6pm Wednesday after the AFL drafts all finished. Can we please all try and get our list lodgements in before that time (more on that later).

If we want to start earlier we can. But there will be no time limit (24 hours) until 6pm Wednesday. And your list lodgements must be in before you make a pick.

Although we have a 24 hour limit, we all like to keep it moving. If you're going to be unavailable for a while you can email a list to another coach to pick for you.

List lodgements this year will be posted on sheets. We will be creating a tab soon where you will fill out something like the following.

Staghounds
In: Viney, May, Hickey
Out: Henry, Flanders, Hough
AFL delisted/retirements: Selwood, Polec,
Superleague delist: Castagna
Number of picks required: 3
Picks:36,52,64

If you have a player that has been delisted by their AFL club (eg. Liam Stocker) but you hope they get picked up in the draft, you can keep them on your list and if they don't get picked up, update your list lodgement and take your next pick instead. Or if you want to see if they get picked up in the SSP you can keep them on your list. If they haven't been picked up by the final AFL list lodgements you will get a pick in the PSD.

If there's a player you hope gets picked up in the SSP and isn't on another superleague list you can take a speculative pick (eg. Patrick McCartin last year)
