Realistic positioning.

Simply apply that, and there will be no issues.

I always go back to examples within the Pies, because I watch them the most obviously.

If Pies have Cameron or Cox in poor form, they will still select them over trying Elliot as a fast leading full forward.

If both 200cm+ players are injured, there is no guarantee that going with Elliot at full forward would be an option.

It would be a danger for a tall defence side not to consider what could happen. Pies would change game styles, where there would be little to no long kicks to a contest. They would be looking at quick lead up bullet kicks, and Elliot would kill a tall defender for pace.

But only if there is no other option.

Look at Doggies in 16, they went with a small forward line apart from Boyd.

Trends in game plans in the AFL are too often employed for us to be rigid.

If it is plausible in AFL, it should be plausible in the SL. Injuries cause teams to be inventive.
