Subject: Unread Emails/Trading thoughts

I am extremely sorry for my lack of communication on email to other coaches who have asked me questions and given support via this form of communication, as I hadn't been opening up my loud9 email account for some time.

My email situation for this competition is that a couple of years ago, I was getting inundated with emails asking about trades Īs such and such gettable", talk on drafts, "Your turn" etc. Off 14 coaches, these emails were too much.

I am the sort of person that deletes every email when it is dealt with. Having a red number of how many emails not attended to, frustrates me. My personal email is now empty, awaiting emails to DEAL with.

When I have heaps of emails for Superleague, I could not keep up, so I gave up. I felt that if anyone wanted to ask me questions, they could do so on Voy or now on sheets.

I am not a particularly active trade person as you all know. Each of my players have value, and that value I think I have a great read on. If I am offered overs for my player, I feel for the opposition coach, that in my opinion, they would be weakening their side to do that trade. I am not in the business of being an opportunist to make myself better. I do support an even competition as much as possible.

If I get offered what I consider unders, I am not in the business of weakening my side either. And if it is evens, sometimes I think "Why trade for trade sake".

There is a need for trades lately, and that is to get an even trade for another type that is lacking in my balance.

I have asked for a small trade period, as with me, I am slightly unbalanced, and would like a chance to try to rectify that issue, but will not be bending over backwards to make this happen. I have good balance IMHO, and depending on a couple of factors, depth in all areas should be covered.

I have one extra Key Forward, and one less Key back. A few years ago now, I went out to trade for, or draft key defenders. I picked up St Kilda's Josh Bruce, I picked up Sydney's Sam Reid, and I had Rhys Stanley. ALL were redeployed to the forward line. It was ridiculous.

Sometimes with these balance rules, we are seemingly playing whack a mole. Just when we think we have it all sorted, something happens, and it stuffs up again.

In the upcoming months, Sam Reid might go into defence again. Melbourne might get another key injury in defence they may try reinventing Weideman into a defender. OR, Weideman might go to another club next year as a defender. Hawthorn might make Jackson Callow a defender, or Port might make Ollie Lord a defender.

But in the mean time, I have to go about attempting to fix my balance with "Actuals" instead of "Possible".

I am off work apart from 16 hours this week, who knows for next week, so I will try to talk to a few of you about trades, and see if we can do something.

As a response to some of the emails I received in support of the issues that I bought up recently. In reading some of the emails, I realize it was necessary to bring these things up. I am sort of glad I didn't read them when I was in that headspace, because I think I would have been more riled up, and possibly could have pulled the pin altogether, and not levelled out my thoughts.

I will attempt to keep level in my thoughts for the betterment of the competition going forward. Not sure if that will work, but I will try.

In another thread, there will be some suggestions. Lets call it my Do better report, without the race issues.
