Subject: Back it up - Premiers racing Father Time

The silverware is in the cabinet and the ink is barely dry on their honour board at the Toomuc reserve clubhouse but that hasn't stopped change. Ebert (who has been named a club champion for his GF heroics) has cleaned out his locker as too has Birchall and Sinclair. Gibbs and Henderson have retired and Wood has been traded after an up and down 2 seasons.

It is any wonder that the reigning premiers haven't just sat still. Coach John is never one for a quiet trade period. The league would be a ghost town if so. But the trade period is quiet by his previous standards and why would he need to pull the trigger? Some of his best stars were missing from the grand final: Heppell (The Captain), McGovern (The Interceptor), Heeney (The young gun) and Jones (The bull mid) and Redden (the old warrior) will be back on top of some young talent in Fiorini and Drew to help bolster the depth.

But no club has ever gone back to back and Rams arduous task of doing so is more complicated as 18 of their best 22 are over 28 years old. To say that they need a miracle, is a slight exaggeration. They only dropped 2 games all season and beat League powerhouse the Giants twice. But the Toomuc residents know that this is it. If they don't win it the rebuild will happen once again.

This time however, can they rebuild in less than 4 seasons? Time is running out and Coach John will be batting for his career.
