Her words had little effect on his facial features. His lips did not twist down in a frown and his brows did not furrow in worry. He simply listened to her pleas before moving to the edge of the bed. The smooth muscles of his back rippled as he reached back to grab her wrists. “I have to. I told him I would.” She didn’t know that he had purposely taken her under his coven for a reason. Or that even the trip to his room had its purpose. But he wasn’t the type to reassure. She’d figure it out. He pulled her towards him, pressing her lips to hers before standing up and pulling her to her feet. He hugged her against his chest before moving towards the door. “come, he’s waiting.”
