She panted slightly but was very alert. Her nose raised vaguely as she took in the unfamiliar scents that coursed the mellow breeze. She lowered her nose again and blinked slowly. Her sides heaved slightly and her paws were muddy from her excursion. Above her head flew a significant black bird. He was outlined by the sun but with a diminutive movement of his wings was caught on a current of air and brought down a little. She circled widely, lower and lower till he landed on the female wolf’s back. He tilted his wings at a straight angle and brought himself to a complete stop. His beady eyes searched the land and the creatures that lived in it, as he folded his wings to his sides. The female seemed to pay him little attention until he pecked her lightly to speak. She swallowed awkwardly and began to speak. Her voice echoed with benevolence but of a acrid past. This past, however, affected her little in life. ‘I am Queen Kosses from Camelot. I trust that a dear friend of mine, Serene, has come before I and asked for you to join our forces and become allies. She has related to me that you wanted to speak with me about the agreement.
