In mathematics, strictly writing, the square root of a negative number cannot exist, because any number, positive or negative, multiplied by itself is ALWAYS positive. Yet "complex" number systems, based on the square root of minus one, are an important part of mathematics and its applications, such as, for example, Electrical Engineering.
..... Yes, mathematics is often beyond reality, but it can be VERY useful nevertheless.
..... By the way, there may be many IMAGINARY parts of religious literature; are they also useful?
