>>Prophecies have been proven true by historical facts.
>
>Which ones??!!
>Which ones havent??

>>So this backs up our already existing faith. Faith is
>>not just built on prohecies alone.
>
>I'm sure prophecies would back up faith even if they
>interpretted after the fact. (remember effort
>dissonance?)
>Why are you sure? ...and that dissonant business...Doesnt dissonant mean, Not in harmony, Harsh-toned, incongrunous? It does'nt quite make sense as a condition. hmmm.
>

>>The definition of faith is the assured expectation of

>>realities though not beheld.
>
>Okay, but can't I hope for anything? Wouldn't my faith
>in the tortoise God of Andromeda be as strong as your
>faith by this definition?
Again..True faith is not credulity, that is, a readiness to
>>believe something without sound evidence or just
>>because a person wants it to be so.

>>True faith is not credulity, that is, a readiness to
>>believe something without sound evidence or just
>>because a person wants it to be so. Genuine faith
>>requires basic or fundamental knowledge, aquaintance
>>with evidence, as well as heartfelt appreciation of

>
>okay...wouldn't that still leave room for my tortoise
>God? NO!
>And again!..True faith is not credulity, that is, a readiness to believe something without sound evidence or just because a person wants it to be so.

>>Thus, although it is impossible to have real faith
>>without accurate knowledge, the Bible says that it is
>>"with the heart" that one exercises faith.
>
>Okay. So you believe in the Bible because your heart
>tells you to? See, I'm a fan of your heart not telling
>you squat. I think your brain tells you ultimately
>whether or not you believe.

NO, NO, NO, its a combination, you forget, its NO one thing, again, it is impossible to have real faith
>>without "accurate knowledge", the Bible says that it is
>>"with the heart" that one "exercises faith".

Now, one might say that
>there is no logical basis for faith, or that it is
>emotionally driven, and I'd readily agree with either
>of those statements. The troubling aspect is that you
>seem to believe that there is "evidence" and "facts"
>for your faith, but I'm willing to bet that the
>"faith" part always comes first, and without it the
>"evidence and facts" are feeble at best and spurious
>at worst.
Then you would be a poor man. Save your money do not bet for you are incorrect.
I feel that even if the evidence was glaring you in the face you still would not accept it. But that is your choice.
The offer of attaining the knowledge is there on a plate for you (IF YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW).
I have given you, personally, enough to think about I can say the same about your comments they have made my faith in God and the Bible stronger.
Many thanks
Cheers!
