I think this is taking Descartes' assertions the wrong way. By this theory, my dirt god "Baboo" now exists because he exists in my mind. Not to get too far into the nature of reality, but just thinking that something is real doesn't make it real. The reason we can be confident that we exist if we can say "I exist" is not because we exist in our minds, but because we obviously have to exist in order to make any assertions at all about anything. We have no way of knowing that anyone or anything else exists, but we can know that we exist. It is entirely different, though, to assert that anything we _think about_ exists just because we think it.

If such things _do_ exist, they can only be said to exist within the confines of our minds, which is not an objective, real existence.
