This is a pretty slippery slope argument. Doctors have the option of killing every day without anyone being the wiser, but I've yet to see doctors kill patients left and right in unfortunate heart surgeries. No, the fact of the matter is the medical field is regulated in such a way that such going-ons are highly limited.

Another example is that pet owners everywhere have the power to put their animals to sleep at any given point. So far I haven't seen a rash of pet putting to sleep. It simply doesn't follow. Power to legally kill doesn't translate into kill everything vaguely resembling.
