Jennifer,
Hello, and welcome back. I haven't had much time for the board lately, but your comments are certainly welcome here. When I have the time, I will respond to them.

>beginning.
Well, just because Wade said it doesn't make it true, of course. For the Christian, God's "existing outside of time" is very convenient, because it solves a lot of problems. But no, I don't think that God exists outside of time, because I don't think it is possible to do so. I see time as simply a succession of events, and not something that actually exists in the sense you're talking about. Therefore, there is nothing to "exist outside of." Understand that I am not saying it's "impossible" for God, since I know that grates on your nerves as a Bible-believing Christian ("...with God, all things are possible..."). I am saying I don't think it is possible in a similar sense that it is not possible for God to find England on a United States map. It isn't that he's weak... it's just an impossible thing to do, and it doesn't make sense.
>I have always seen this description of the "heavens"

>or are you so close minded that you can only see it
>your way?
Well, back then, they didn't know there was a "universe." They thought the lights in the sky were fixed above the earth in the "firmament," which was just above the earth. If you don't believe me, do some research on your own. I have studied this. When you say, "Could this be a possibility?" I would basically answer "no," but not because I am "so closed-minded"... simply because this is the result of things I have studied. If you have sources that say the "heavens" refers to the universe as we now know it, please present your sources for all to see.
Since you are concerned about my being "closed minded," I was wondering if you are willing to change your mind regarding your beliefs about the Bible. If not, it is truly you who is closed-minded. I have changed my beliefs on these issues... I used to think the Bible was God's perfect word to mankind. The fact that I changed my mind shows that I do not have a closed mind. I am also willing to change my mind in the future if sufficient evidence is offered. Are you?
Ben
