*a large black stallion fills the entrance of the cave**a woman slides off, and pulls a child down after her* "Kaizen? Is that you?" *she says*

*Kaizen swallows* "Birdie?"

*Birdie nods, and replies* "I know we haven't seen each other for a while, Kay, but I need your help. You remember our clan? The laws? Well, it states that any persons over thirteen may adopt and care for any child over two winters."

*Kaizen looks confused* "Yes?"

"Kay, you are thirteen by my calculations, and this,"
*pushes the dirty little girl in front of her* "is three."

*shakes her head* "No, Birdie. You got yourself this child, you take care of it."

*smiles* "Great, Kay." *she swings back on the horse and gallops off, leaving the girl with Kaizen*

*looks at the girl* "Well, little one, I guess that's that. What's your name?"

*the child looks up* "Elowyn. What's yours?"

*grins at her bluntness* "Kaizen."

*turns to Och* "Don't ask. Just don't ask."
