*mare stands still and silent, not a single muscle in her taut body moving at all. she emits a slight snort, then flicks her tail. without a word, she turned her back on the stranger, and walked away. he posed no threat to her - no immediate threat, anyways. still, she kept both her ears and all of her available senses focused on him, lest he prove herself wrong*

*the filly quickly follows her mother, yet stops a few steps later, craning her neck to watch the stranger. she cocks her head, then snorts. she wondered why her father was so silent. she wondered why her mother was so bitter. they both loved her, that she knew. and they both wanted the best for her, no doubt about it. yet where was the laughter? where was the playing? where were the other foals for her to play with? it was confusing... little did she know that both solo, TSH, and the whole herd would effect the way she grew and thought... for the rest of her life*
