Subject: WHOSER NEEDS A NEW HOME! (please read; very important)

Dear fellow Whosers,

For those who don't know me, my name is Ashley, and I apologize to you for taking up space on this message board; the matter I am addressing is, however, very important. I thank everyone in advance for taking the time to read this post.

As some of you may know, my parents are the proud owners of Whoser, the Official Whoser Mascot. Whoser is a precious three year old gray kitten who never quite grew up. He has happily served as Mascot from the beginning; since the very roots of Whoserdom first took hold. I come to you now because Whoser needs a new home. Sadly, he has begun to not get along with the three other cats my parents have (like us Whosers, he's a little different - not orange like the others are - and just doesn't fit in). They fight and break things while fighting. It has gotten to the point where it is so bad there are no other solutions. He just seems to rouse anger in other cats (even outside of the home); he is, however, a perfect One-cat-household Cat. The proof is this:

When my parents were going to be moving from Charlotte, NC to Tampa, FL my father was living in FL while my sister finished school in Charlotte. Whoser first began to fight with the others. To try and remedy this for a while, my mother sent Whoser to live with my father in his apartment for 6 months. My father couldn't believe it was the same cat; he'd always been sweet and loving, but without the other cats to incite his rambunctiousness, he was a living angel. When my mother brought the other cats down to FL, everything was wonderful - at first. Now Whoser has slipped back into his old patterns. One good thing: we do know that his behavior changes when he is an only cat.

My dilemma is this: I must find Whoser a GOOD home very soon as my parents cannot keep him separated from the other cats forever; it is not fair to him or the other cats or my parents. The thought of giving him to strangers, however kind, and never being able to see this precious, wonderful kitty again breaks my and my mother's hearts. So, before we have to take such drastic measures, my parents have agreed to let me try to find a home for Whoser among the Whosers!

His information is as follows:

Name: Whoser
Alias: Whoserfeetness, Beef, Baby, Angel, Boojaboo, Grayrobefireballshortsword (ask my boyfriend about that one!)
Breed: cat mutt ;)
Age: approximately 3 years
Weight: app. 8 lbs (he's the smallest of all my mom's kitties)
Color: gray and white
Status: neutered, declawed in front, immunized for the year, clean bill of health for entire life
Personality: so sweet, will sleep with you (if not ON you), loving, funny as anything! (If you throw him treats and get the angle just right, he will literally catch them in the air with his paws while standing on his back feet and put them in his mouth! Also, and this is my favorite, I have trained him to roll over on command when I offer him a treat. We have an entire routine that we go through! What I love most: he'll only do it for me. But! He may do it for you if you take lessons;) Plus, he has developed distinct routines that he does with other people who offer treats. My boyfriend has trained him to give him a kiss beforehand. Funny, that's the same thing he did with me! And when he was younger, he had a powder puff ball that was his "comfort blanket". He would make this very distinctive sound when he was holding it in his mouth! You could tell when he was bringing it too you. He would even sleep with it! He's just the sweetest thing!), litter box trained, would be great with kids - very mellow when the other person is NOT a cat, takes to new people very quickly if you throw treats for him (again, ask my boyfriend!), for you cat people out there: he loves to knead on you!:)
Requirements: MUST be an indoor cat (will make an awesome apt. cat) and an only cat, he also needs to be adopted by a true Cat Person: someone who will understand that he will need some time to adjust to his new surroundings, someone who will shower him with love and attention (not be gone for weeks at a time often - he's a cat who will miss you), someone who will understand his addiction to treats (he's a treat whore!), and someone who will recognize what a special sweetness he is!

Whoser is 100% free (what a bargain!) and my parents will pay to have him shipped anywhere provided we find the right person. All we ask is that he is treated well ALWAYS and that if, for ANY reason, you decide you don't want him (suddenly grow allergic, moving to a no-pet zone, anything!), you will contact me and my family FIRST before doing anything. We will try to find him another home. So, I ask you this: if you think you even have a slight desire to own this awesome cat OR if you know anyone who's a really wonderful person and looking for a wonderful cat (maybe a stay-at-home mom with kids, a retired person, a kindly aunt, anyone great!), please please please e-mail me ASAP. This is extremely urgent, as we need to find a home for Whoser very quickly; as I said, it isn't fair for him to be kept away from people and the other cats.

I have posted pictures of Whoser on this webpage:

Thank you so much, again, for reading this. Anyone who can help will have my eternal love and gratitude. Please e-mail me with any information or questions!

Whoser thanks you too!
Ashley
