Author: If I could I would run a mile from it, only my daughter won't give up.
Subject: I'd advise your daughter to look at another hobby. Irish Dancing is a crazy and expensive world. You don't want to get involved. My honest opinion.
In reply to: Beginner 's message, ": I have a young girl interested in Irish Dancing. I was advised to check this board out before I approach a school. Sweet lord this dancing world is mental! This board is a major put off!! Is there any schools in newry/armagh/lough area that is not full of crazy women?????" on Tue, Apr 09 2024, 0:14:30

  • If your daughter wants to dance, let her dance! It's an amazing hobby and great for friendships, fitness, social etc. You don't have to even think about the competitive route yet. Loads do it and either don't compete or don't compete often. It only gets nasty at higher levels. My daughter is preopen so not Champion level, she loves it, loves her teacher and friends so I am happy for her to do it. I ignore the politics and I have made some friends too through parents.
