[ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 07:29:23 09/27/10 Mon I am emailing you to let you know that your payment has been sent out and would arrive via courier service within the next 72hrs, I also want you to know that the amount which was sent to you by the sponsor is more than your asking price because they mistakenly sent our traveling fees along with the money for our expenses, so I would also let you know the name and address which you would remit the rest of the funds to, I hope I can trust you with the rest of the funds for our flight ticket because people can be really funny nowadays . DON'T RESPOND, DON'T ORDER ANYTHING, DON'T ACCEPT ANY PAYMENT OF ANY KIND (EXCEPT CREDIT CARD WITH DIRECT SHIPMENT THROUGH YOUR WEBSITE OF COURSE) Here are some of the "red flags" Paying with Money order, cashier's check, wire transfer, etc... (basically anything other than credit card from someone you don't know. Asking for the 'balance' of the payment BACK ("overpaying", etc... "Out of the country"...in the UK, Nigeria...basically, ANYWHERE outside of the country LARGE quantities of product The BEST way to protect yourself is to VERY SIMPLY: Direct anyone you DON'T KNOW to go to your website, pay with a credit card and have the products shipped DIRECTLY to them! If any other Representatives have any other information/variations of 'email scams', please post them on this messageboard in order to warn others.
