The Avon World Tour is well worth making the trip for! I would, however, recommend the BUS over the train. Peter Pan Buslines goes directly to the NYC Port Authority. The bus station is right off of Rt. 95 North in Providence near the North Main St. exit. Hope this helps!

FYI.........check out MEGA BUS.... megabus.com I just looked and can't see their calendar for April yet...but put in a January date just to see the fare.... OMG....only $1 . I used Mega bus this summer to send 6 teens to NYC for the day, total cost each way was only $30...that's for 6 of them, it was $5 each way for each of them. Only problem with Mega Bus is return to RI leaves NYC at 6pm....so eaither leave the city early or stay over night...use your bus ticket savings towards a room! :) MegaBus picks up and drops off across from Convention Center downtown Providence.
