, violent binge drinking every weekend is not acceptable, we need more than just a headline in the paper==more police on beat.
Its not actually disadavantaged or marginilised people, who are a huge problem, mainly somone in that category is having some booze and self medicating==doing harm to no one except themselves. Blanket statement I know==but largely true, in that partcular case sadly your looking a chirrosis of the liver for the person concerned eventually, but no damage is being down to other citizens a person such as that needs our compassion and real help.
I'm talking about a person who is in full time employment lives in the burbs comes into the city on the weekend and just treats the whole place like a rubbish dump, is abusive towards others, aggressive, loud mouthed.
I think Ted Ballieu with extra police presence and more security on trains very welcome.
Like to see plastic cups in pubs too, nothing worse than walking the footpaths, they smash the bottles and the glasses, you can have young children walking through the city, with not the stoutest of footwear and some fool, has left a nice present for a young child to cut his or her feet on.
Hopefully, amybe with any luck, some of the excess bachannalia can be brought under control with the new premier in charge.
I thought John Brumby a good premier, but this issue, a big failure of his government.
I might add I'm a homeless person walking around the streets of MLB nearly two years now and Ive been insulted and abused I've forgotten how many times by the above type of person.
