Subject: MBB: Patriot League RPI
The Patriot League was considered by CBS Sports to be the 18th (out of 32) strongest D1 basketball conference last year. This year? #27. Just saying, hoop fans.

If Colgate should lose to the D3 team they are playing Thurs., that rank could fall farther.

Many of the more serious sites have different conclusions. For example, Pomeroy had the league at #23 last year and has it at #21 this year. Sagarin has it the same this year as last year.
Three teams - American, Lafayette, and especially Colgate - have fallen off dramatically from last year. Otoh, Army, Navy, and Boston U are all much improved. Army finished last year ranked #263 (Pomeroy). Thus far in 2015-16, they are at #122. Navy and Boston U have both jumped over 80 spots in the rankings as well.

MBB trounced D3 Utica University last night. Does anyone know if that win counts in 'gate's overall ranking among the 200 plus or so D1 programs?

The game counts for Colgate but not for Utica College.

1. There are actually 351 D1 teams
2. This game counts for the records of both Colgate and Utica.
3. This game does not count for Colgate's RPI.

Then, I guess, the announcer at the game was wrong.
