Subject: MBB v SU

Syracuse leading 27-16, with 3:50 left in 1st. Not bad. Last time Colgate won was 1962. Of course, Colgate basketball players are at somewhat of a disadvantage as they have to go to class, write papers and take exams.

Colgate's passing is poor - way to slow against a quicker SU team. Cuse 46-31, 14 left.

78-51, not bad. SU had only an 11 point lead at the half. Colgate had won 4 in a row back in the 1960's.

I was at that 1962 game. I believe Dave Bing and Jim Boeheim were the backcourt for 'Cuse in that Gate win. Bob Duffy was our All-American and played a heck of a game.

Boeheim says he thought he was pretty good in high school but when he got to Syracuse he found out he wasn't. He said he was satisfied with inbounding the ball to Bing and then staying out of his way.

The first varsity season for Bing and Boeheim was 1963-64.

Duffy graduated in 1962.
