Well, I am glad that W-B-Ball generated some interest and attention. even if it took some negativity to spark things.
I am a supporter to that specific program. I go to games and I have contributed financially to Triple-Double. And my hope has been that Coach Nicci would build a credible and winning program over time. We are, in fact, a credible program now - compared to state of program when Coach N came on board - hopefully, the winning component can follow this coming year. And I am compeleld to weigh-in and comemnt that I am very disappointed our athletic leadership has chosen the "premium" ticket route for the U Conn game. I am not in the know here - perhaps we had to give U Conn some sort of huge guarantee to come to Hamilton; or we are giving U conn expense money that isn't the case when normal opponents come to Hamilton. But, if that isn't the case, I am deeply disappointed. Makes Colgate look minor league; lacks class. And is no way to try and be "building" a fan-base or program. Short-sighted and sends the wrong signal. I will do some research on what other schools currently do when playing U Conn; U Tenn; the cream of women's basketball. But, I can comment from persoanl past experience that I have never paid $25 for a seat at a regular season's womens basketball game - and that includes games I have attended in the ACC; Big 10; Big 12; And Big East. And that includes several games I attended when opponent was a #1 team in country.
For the extra 20-30 grand to be raised by this shameful price-gauging, not worth the negative stench. And remember, I am a supporter of the program and I am saying this. Bad Job.............BOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS: I haven't been to a home hockey game in awhile. Do we charge a premium when Cornell comes to Starr Rink? And if we did, would eevryone just say - okay - supply and demnad - or would there be negative sentiment?

Colgate is not giving any payday to UConn. That is not the issue at all. UConn sought out this game, after Syracuse was afraid to play them, as Breanna Stewart's homecoming. Geno has a relationship with Nicci since his best friend in coaching is DePaul's coach, Doug Bruno.

FWIW, season tickets for home UConn games in the upper deck - much worse than anything in Cotterell - are $160 for eight games, i.e. $20 per game.

There is a premium for the Cornell hockey game, but it's marginal... a GA ticket goes from $8 to $10, for example. No idea why this one is so expensive other than they think they can get it... will ask.

Re: WBB: $25 for the home game vs UConn? -- Colgate W B-BALL Supporter BOO))!! (Still Disappointed), 10/ 3/15 11:24:01am Sat
Thanks for the information. Okay - i can accept that admission prices for top-tier games around country have risen. But, that doesn't change fact that there is huge premium being charged by Colgate for the U CONN game. I know eberyone would like to see Starr paked every game - but our hockey program has tradition and is well-established. Our women's basketball pgrm lacks tradition and does not have nearly enough core supporters who attend home games. $25 is steep - and a real premium over a regular game admission. If even 10-20 new fans attended U CONN game - and liked the experience - and decided to come back to attend other Colgate women's basketball games, those 10-20 additional attendees would represent a real tangible "gain" for the women's basketball program. In my mind, charging the premium is NOT the way to try and build a program's following. Big supporter of VC and her team - but they got this one wrong. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

I tend to think 25 bucks is a bit much for local fans and those that do attend regular season WBB games. It's kind of a slap in the face for them. But, we'll see and maybe they will sell the game out.

I will be surprised if it's not a sellout. But most of the fans may be rooting for UConn, unless a lot of CU fans buy tickets before they are offered to the general public.
