last indian, HC is not better. This win makes it four in a row for Colgate.

The offensive line for the outstanding rushing drive for the TD. They made HC's D line look really ineffective. Go O Line.

Agreed. That last drive we ate up yardage and the clock, didn't give HC any chance. The O line was superb at opening holes for Wilkens and made their D line totally irrelevant. The passing game certainly opened things up for us today. Let's hope this proves to be a turnabout in our game strategies henceforth. Go Gate!

HC certainly looked to be the better team for 85% of the first half, but the second half was a big contrast. The performance by the O-line was the best this year. And it is a patched together bunch because of injuries, with several making their first start. Kudos. If you want me to eat crow based on my first half observation, I am more than happy to do so. As I said elsewhere, I think coach Shaffner deserves thanks. The D was terrific against a QB that has given us nightmares. I am always glad,to see Gilmore lose and Colgate to play 'gate football.

The game ball should go to the HC coaching staff-poor performance on defense and offense. Still 9500 fans at the game at Fitton Field-when was the last time Colgate had that many fans at Andy KERR?

Dear GOHC, As to your raving about the 9,500 at Fitton Field today, 25% of the crowd was wearing maroon. Beyond that, don't overlook the fact that the population residing within a 20 mile radius of Worcester is at least fifteen times greater than that in the same vicinity of the Kerrdome.

I am biased but I would take Andy Kerr Stadium over HC's
field even if the stands were empty. I mean, have you taken an impartial assessment of what makes for an enjoyable college football experience?

Why?

From my seat, HC is nowhere near as appealing:

1- There is nothing that can be done about it, obviously, but the stadium's visitor side is next to a roaring highway.
Then there were all the noisy "entertainments" throughout the game, possibly for the children, with dance groups,
team tributes and, worst of all, some clown announcing from
different sections home side sections giveaways, contest, and other nonsense at every timeout. Gratuitous noise, the extreme alternative, I guess, to a traditional atmosphere, you know, focusing on the game itself.

2- The mixed tailgate area showed that the authorities made NO effort to establish a Colgate section conducive to socializing. And at $10 per car you would expect more- and you would get it at Colgate. It's called hospitality.
And after navigating the mess that is Worcester, with its perpetual road works, I will take the scenery, convenience and safety of Hamilton anytime.

3- The last impression I had of leaving the stadium site was about 10 minutes after the game ended. It seemed like HC security staff couldn't wait to get away themselves. All
the chain link gates leading from the visitors side to the
regular (mixed) parking lot were padlocked, requiring visitors to walk around to the back of the home side, exit
through their exit and then loop back to the lot. Shabby.

If you want to experience class, a world away from Worcester and HC stadium, visit Colgate. Ah... central NY
hospitality on one of the top 5 most beautiful college campuses in the nation with a generous visitor lot, easy access, and a focus, yes, on the football game. Before you arrive check out out the Farmers Market in the Village, and before you take your seats look around Andy Kerr at the new soccer stadium towards Tyler's Field and behind the Dunlap stands the $38 million Class of 1965 Arena.

That does it for me.

Go 'gate!

Steve, You said it very well. HC is always challenging tailgating: what parking lot, what rules. Gate being gate though we managed to find some maroon, even one of the 2003 dream team players with his wife and parents (what fun that was). We lingered after the game with the players' parents so by the time got back to the lot, you are right, there was no one there. Finally post game tailgating was possible, but who could have known?

The game totally surprised us, especially when we began to fall into that routine of penalties that has helped our first 3 opponents win. But after a series of successful Melville completions, there it was, out of nowhere, that standard gate play from the playbook: RUN, RUN, RUN...by not 1 but 2 amazing athletes. I think HC kept thinking we would start passing again (since it appeared to be working) but we didn't, but they kept thinking we would. Melville maybe the ace in the hole to keep the running game effective (cuz I really think we can RUN).

Just fyi, to get the real spin on the Crusader view of our victory, go to their unofficial website. google CROSSSPORT, it should come up. GO GATE !

I'll take the win. You keep the fans. It was your homecoming after all. I think this is 'gate's fourth consecutive win, right?

Andy Kerr stadium(?) is a poor man's high school stadium.

The stadium was good enough to get us to the national championship. Until you've been there, have some respect...

Always fun to see the HC fans blaming their coaches after we've jammed the ball down their throats... again! They know what's coming & can't stop it, that's on the players they put on the field.

We had 7,300 for our homecoming debacle a week ago. Given the relative demographics of the area I'd say that's a more impressive number than HC's 9K. And we don't have to paper over half our stadium to make it look full...
