Kevin,

The relative success of Colgate's soccer programs has to do with several factors, not just what you claim may be "a lot more funds" and what you suggest might "occur" to other people.

You might as well consider the coaches involved, the tradition of winning that is self-reinforcing, the facilities, the priorities attached to the programs by the Athletic Department and its supporters' involvement, and the relative attractiveness of attending Colgate which is the top ranked PL school according to USN&WR, for what it's worth, after Navy (an entirely different prospect and entity).

Yes, Colgate is in a privileged position with its soccer programs. And this contributes to its perennial success.

Go 'gate!

Yes there are lots of factors. But giving out a lot more scholarships and spending a lot more money has been the most important factor.

Kevin,

Please validate your assertion with some evidence so I can take what you say as fact, not one of those "it's a fact that" opinions.

Thanks in advance.

By the way, the scenario I outlined that contributes to Colgate's soccer programs can also be useful in understanding and describing Colgate's successful lacrosse programs. What's your opinion?

Go 'gate!
