My favorite memory at Shiloh was the morning after our camp out under the stars. The rain just made for more authenticity. But the moment when after the cannons stopped firing and we started marching up the hill to go meet the Federals on the other side was when I really felt like I was participating in a historical scene.

Walking up to the crest, not knowing what would greet us on the other side, then reaching the crest and seeing the most blue coats I've ever seen in one area... AMAZING! It was absolutely amazing hearing and seeing our boys in gray shout and fight, and hearing the blue bellies respond in kind, and at times seeing the smoke so thick and not being able to see those Feds through it... I know trully understand what "fog of war" means. That moment in the weekend was the most real feeling I've had during any of our past battle scenarios. I willnever forget it.
