Is my mindvoice more or less startling than my real voice? She wondered, knowing perfectly well that her voice sounded like sandpaper against rough wood. Again she cursed the opponent who had mauled her throat. Her complex healing systems had been unable to help her voice, but she still smiled. The other fighter had lost a lot more than his voice!
