Subject: I loved the coffee thing. That was one idea I had already thought about as a way for people to notice something was different. However, with his creative, story-telling mind, he should have been able to come up with something better than I forgot it. How about (inside)
In reply to: Theresa 's message, "UGH! I really did not appreciate that woman trying to force herself on Castle. If a man was that agressive toward a woman and she were trying to fight him off that would be considered assault. I don't think that's funny at all." on 23:30:49 10/01/12 Mon

Here is how I would have written the scene:

Esposito asks where Kate's coffee is.
Castle: Oh, I dropped it and spilled it *everywhere*. (exaggerated face)
Esposito: Why didn't you just buy her another one?
Castle: I was too far away at that point and didn't want to miss anything important on the case on Beckett's first day back.
Esposito: So why didn't you just give Kate your coffee?
Castle: Beckett doesn't want to drink after me, do you? (turns to Kate)
Beckett: Of course not, I don't know where your lips have been!

IMO,Much better, and funnier, than the "he forgot and she forgave him" dialogue that we got.
