Subject: My quick thoughts because oh, do I ever have so many FEELS! This episode made it right to the top as one of my favorites; it was funny and cute and sweet and so adorably loving; it was almost perfect, to me. I bow to the genius that is Marlowe et. al., being capable of making us anticipate a second on-screen kiss almost as much as their first, with all their teasing and interruptions!! (inside)

1. How perfect was that handshake? It was so full of love that I was almost weepy with it. The way they were heartbroken about not being able to kiss goodbye, and the touches and words they chose to give each other that connection were just amazing.

2. Minor pet-peeve - I wished at the end of the scene that they didn't make everything funny... I could've done without the sweaty comment there. However, maybe they both needed it to pull themselves together since they were still at the precinct, so it's ok.

3. I'm happy they chose that way to reveal that Martha already knew, right from the first moment. Because seriously, how would she not - who makes their bed with the sheet wrapped around themselves?! LOL. But not just that she knew, I loved that there was never any question that it wasn't Beckett.

4. I have no issue with how they handled Alexis. It's one of the first truly teenage things they've written for her - complete self-involvement; her dad's new relationship a mere blip on her radar. (For now.) I liked that. Plus, the father-daughter scene in her new room was handled perfectly.

5. The scene at almost the end, where Kate tells him the story about her mother's funeral and Coney Island, was simply amazing. I'm not sure I even have words to convey how incredibly beautiful I think this was handled. There was so much darkness in her life after this happened to her mother and by extension her father, and here they gave her this moment in time where even in her worst times, they gave her hope, and something to hang on to. "Even in the worst of days, there is a possibility for joy." WOW. This beautiful, beautiful show.

6. I was waiting, waaaaiting at the end for Kate to show up, to come 'home' to him, be there with him during his first night at home without his daughter. I'm sure she did anyway, just would've loved to see it, even a glimpse of her showing up at the door. (So naturally, I wrote it.)

7. There was nothing quick about these thoughts, I guess. lol. This show turns me into a rambling, gooey mess.
