Atumi feels the need to explain to Noni exactly why the fire's energy felt like it was alive, so the black turns his water-hued gaze on her first. "Energy is life-force, as you said, and life is lived through emotions." Keep it simple or you'll lose them quickly. "Your emotions control your energy, which is why those cold and dry cannot use it, no matter how hard they try. In the rage of battle, your emotions were funneled directly into what energy you'd stored inside your body, Noni, and animated it. Emotions are what give energy its force -- they are the wind that powers the waves to crash against the shore. Your concentration, as Zrego mentioned," a brief glance towards the young striped, "is what controls the energy. Without concentration, you will harm yourself and those around you. Without emotion, you will be useless in animating the energy that you have. Without energy... well, without energy you're alive to begin with." Atumi's muzzle quirks in a slight grin that bares a single fang.

"But what is energy? This the two of you do not know." The rolling tenor has taken on a hypnotic edge, as though weaving a great tale of length and eloquence. "Everything has energy. Whether it breathes or not, energy suffuses every single natural object, in this world and in others. The air, the sunlight, the darkness and shadows, fire, earth, rocks, plants, trees, beasts, birds, fish, insects, water... it all has its own energy. This energy feels different; unique textures belong to each type of creature. Tans have a finer texture of energy than the other breeds, while whites tend to have a smooth texture, blacks a liquid one, and reds a fiery or rough one. You can become aware of energy simply by paying attention... feeling the blood rush through your veins, the air course through your system, the heat your body generates. The energy-center for a Korat is in your torso, right where your ribwall ends in a place called your solar plexus. That is our storehouse of power. Each Korat's energy cycles with blood and oxygen in their system... just like without blood and without air, without energy we would die."

Atumi pauses for a minute or so, giving li'dyn time to digest this chunk of information, knowing that it is only review for Noni but beneficial anyways. "It is possible for a Korat to use up his store of internal energy and die. It is also possible to gradually increase one's capacity for energy, which is what my training will do to you. You will quickly learn how to draw moderate amounts of energy from other living beings or elements to supplement your own. By doing this, you will neither harm yourself nor harm your energy-donor."

"If you have questions or want something further explained, say as much now." One earflick is enough to give weight to that request-slash-demand, but Atumi grins slightly and shoots a wicked glance at Noni. "You will provide my next example, so prepare yourself."
