The blue-black female curls her tail under her out of habit, shutting her eyes and refusing to feel her paws touch the ground. She focuses every available nerve on hearing, and she too begins to be aware of the rushing of blood in the others' veins, the sounds of far off birds, and yes! the river! and even some muffled voices from the clearing. A look of amazement spreading across her face, she moves through all her other senses in a similar fashion, hardly daring to stir a paw.
