Hi Barry, sorry for the delay in replying. Below is a link to a picasa album. the pictures in the album show:

1 the original cable operated louvres. Works OK just needs a "trim type" operating lever with closed, open and 2 intermediate settings.

2 my electrically operated arrangement to control the louvres (allows adjustment at the flick of a switch and gives me (with a bit more electronics)the option to arrange for automatic opening/closing with water temperature changes.

3 My blanking arrangements for the port radiator (no blank/ white plastic (with holes) blank / white plastic blank and (slot-in)solid black plastic blank.

The manual louvre arrangement was built by the guy who built my pulsar. It works fine (apart from the operating lever) but is a bit heavier and more complex than ideal.

I'm in the process (winter project) of making an in-flight adjustable blanking arrangement for the port radiator based on the "roll-up" garage door principal (except it will roll sideways). So far I've bought a long aluminium piano hinge which I intend to cut into pieces the height of the radiator. I'll then join all the bits together side-by-side, so they can lay flat as a rectangle (same shape as radiator) or roll up into a hexagonal tube. Then all I need are U channels top and bottom for the rolling shutter to slide in and a rotating hexagonal tube to wind them onto when the shutters are open.

I have detailed drawings of my motor arrangement for the electric motor/gearbox louvre actuating mechanism if these would be of help

The text below is from Picasa. you'll have to join the lines of the link together and paste it onto you browser - or if you send me your email address (to pulsar{at}panth{dot}co{dot}uk )

I'll email the link to you and it should burst directly into life.

Cheers

Bob
