Hi Alan,
I don't know if it's my plane that is the subject of your posting. I have replaced the nylon rollers and pin with a slightly different arrangement.

I made and fitted a new pin that is vertical so that the roller sits squarely in the track. I made a new roller- it has a lengthened boss to reduce wear and skewing on the pin. The roller width was also increased to match the slot in the track.

The pin is longer and a compression spring is fitted above the roller. The lengthened pin allows the canopy to lift slightly when the canopy locking catch is released, and the spring helps to lift it. (The idea is to lift the canopy off of the seal along the sides of the fuselage so that it can slide more easily.

If the above is of interest to you (or any Pulsar owner) let me know and I'll sort out some photos.

Bob
