Not prepared, Helkin blocked the move with a bandaged arm, leaving one long cut down his forarm. There'd been no power behind the attack, so it wasn't nearly as deep as it could have been, more like a scratch, but blood appeared none the less.

The two boys came inside, Pip apologizing franticly to his brother, his eyes wide in fear. Helkin calmed him down with a wave of his hand, putting presser on the cut. As they passed Mireyo he gave her a venomus glare, hateing to admit that he might have been wrong about Pip's abilities.*
