I mean get real, 5 year olds aren't even allowed to not have front teeth anymore. I think that picture inhancement should be against the rules. It is cheating and you can't tell if the child is really photogenic. Like you said, anything for a win. It's just like in sports, you can't take performance inhancing drugs because it is banned. Infact, in any sport it is against the rules to artaficially inhance your performance. If you want to do better, you do it the old fashion way, by working harder to get better. Picture inhancement should be no different. I say the best way to stop it would be to demand that directors STOP counting pictures for overall all together. Unfortunately, photogenic is more about a perfect picture than a photogenic kid and everything has to be perfect. But as long as that is want, that is what we are going to give them. I personally don't see anything wrong with removing smudged makeup or taking out a stray hair. There are some things like that that you don't notice until you get the proofs back and you can't waste an entire roll of film because of a smudge. But, I do think that the quest for perfection has gone too far. Like you said, it's not about who's the most photogenic anymore, it's who has the most flawless picture. The way it's judged, they are judging the quallity of the photographer instead of the natural beauty and photogenic abillity of the child. Like I said, we moms need to start boycotting pageants who include photos in overall. Let them know how we feel. If it doesn't make them money, they won't do it. [ Post a Reply to This Message ]
