Yeah, I know your both right, and the story keeps going;

A few days later,….. so not knowing what to say I called the owner and left a message, she called me back and we had a great conversation; when she bought the car a few years ago reverse was a little tough to get into but everything was checked and okayed at the repair shop where the car was inspected, (it really does look good), so a few weeks ago she was parked in a lot and backing out she discovered it would not come out of reverse, this is about a few weeks after putting in the timing belt and tensioner in at Bills shop. It sounds like somebody got rough with it and caused some inside damage before she bought it…. It turns out that she said “Take it, and we can figure it out later”, she couldn’t have be nicer about the whole thing, she had loved the car and the VW she’s leasing now is no comparison.
Its a high mileage car, just under 200k and I have to think if this is the one I want to build, I’ll get it up here this weekend and see if I can do something with the transmission, maybe free it up somehow and really go over it, the thing is that it looks so good, only a tiny leak on one side of the rack.
the story goes on……….. :S
